Join us on a colourful journey into the history, lifestyle and unique character of the Peranakan Babas (the men) and Nonyas (the women)…
Walk through a SPICE GARDEN which sits on the original site of the first Botanic Gardens and uncover the intricacies of spices and herbs that go into Peranakan cooking. A fascinating DISPLAY OF PERANAKAN costume, embroidery, beadwork, jewellery, porcelain, furniture and craftwork, which provides insight into the captivating culture of the Peranakans. Wander through the bustling enclaves of KATONG & JOO CHIAT that showcase the rich andbaroque Peranakan architecture. Admire rows of colourful traditional shophouses that date back to the 1920s and 1930s.

Get ready to whip up your own Peranakan delights in a cosy Black and White Town House with a beautiful Balinese garden in Katong. And after sampling the Nonya cuisine in the earlier part of the day, you would really wonder how to prepare these delectable dishes yourself.
No worries! Teacher Ruqxana is here! Teacher Ruqxana will guide you step by step in the art of Peranakan cooking, which you can bring home to spice up the life of those around you! Complimentary aprons are limited so hurry up and make a reservation to Cook Up Nonya at Cookery Magic.

Booking Terms & Conditions – 7th Asia Pacific Symposium on Cochlear Implants and Related Sciences (APSCI) Tours/ Activities
These tours, designed by Pacific World Singapore, are for participants of the 7th Asia Pacific Symposium on Cochlear Implants and Related Sciences (APSCI). Only the best aspects of Singapore and its environments have been incorporated to provide value for money for persons whose time is at a premium.
All sightseeing tours include informative English speaking commentary, all entry fees and meals where specified. Comfortable shoes and clothing are recommended for all tours. For any outdoor tours, we recommend that participants bring sun protection cream and sunhat and sunglasses.
All tours are based on a minimum number of participants. If minimum numbers are not reached, alternative arrangements or a complete refund will be made. Places on all tours are limited and will be allocated strictly in order of receipt of payment. Where participants cancel their day tour bookings prior to 20 November 2009, payment will be refunded in full less administrative fee of S$20 per person per tour. Thereafter, no refund will be made.
Costs are inclusive of current January 2009 taxes. All costs quoted are indicative 2009 rates. Guaranteed November 2009 rates to be advised six months prior to programme date.
