1st Master Course in Round Window Approach Implant Techniques
The Australian Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery is organizing the 1st Master Course in Round Window Approach Implant Techniques.
This course is the first of its kind to be held in Australia. it will involve implanting the electric acoustic cochlea implant device and active middle ear implant device into the round window niche. Participants will have the privilege of using fresh frozen cadaver temporal bones, a superior teaching model due to its high degree of anatomical realism and near new normal tissue properties. The two-day workshop is aimed at Otologists with a higher than average skill in surgery, who have access to appropriate levels of equipment and operating facilities and appropriate indemnity cover for Level 2 procedures. it does not provide certification of competence in any of the procedures outlined and practised. The sessions are fully interactive with an emphasis placed on knowledgeable faculty who provide superior training and immediate feedback in a practical and controlled workshop environment.
